The Edith Newman Culver Memorial Museum features Native American artifacts, Civil War relics and some original pieces from the house’s first inhabitants. The home was donated as a museum by the granddaughter of Union soldier Joseph Marion Newman in 1995. The museum is located in Waterloo, one of the oldest incorporated towns in Alabama, which was both a significant region in the Civil War and a stop along the Trail of Tears.
